Greetings Dreamers!
I am exploring the possibility of beginning a Dreamwork Group in the Charlotte area, near downtown. I would like to begin with a core group of 8-10 persons who would like to meet at least 2 times monthly, from 7-9 p.m. in the evening. Once, I hear from those who are interested, I will poll the group to see what nights might work best for the group.
A Dreamwork Group allows participants to develop and grow in their relationships with themselves, with others, and in their relationships with God. These groups are safe, confidential, and very rewarding for all involved. It is not therapy, since it is primarily the group members doing their own individual work with the dream while the dreamer gets to listen-in and discover what meanings may be calling to them in this sacred space.
The Dreamwork Group uses a format for working with dreams known as “Projection Method,” developed by Jeremy Taylor and Bob Haden. The group would follow the same agenda at each meeting:
7 P.M. Gathering (possibly light refreshments)
7:15 Centering (lighting a candle and/or a reading or meditation to honor the space as a sacred container)
7:20 Check-in
-each participant shares briefly some meaningful aspect of their lives since last meeting, in order to connect with each other in a personal way.
-each participant also shares either a dream title or the entire dream, depending on time. This way, as the group develops, there is shared sense of how the sacred soul is manifesting in our individual and group experience.
7:45 Dreamwork
-Those who would like to have the group work with their dream may volunteer to do so. Usually, there is ample time to
work with at least 2 dreams.
8:55 Closing Ritual (a prayer or reading or a simple “namaste” — according to desire of the group)
I have been active in these kinds of dreamwork groups now since 2010, and each meeting has been a wonderful and fruitful experience in honoring the life of the soul. These experiences continue to be very meaningful in my life, so I hope to share this same kind of thing with others who may be coming into dreamwork for the first time. It’s an exciting adventure!
Please let me know in the next week, if you or someone you know might be interested. With the summer coming, we may not begin until the Fall. But it’s a good thing to plan ahead, it seems to me.
I look forward to hearing from you!
Blessings,
John Rowe
P.S. There is NO cost for participation in this, except the purchase of a really awesome and cool dream journal, if you don’t already have one.
